CUPPING THERAPY

Cupping is an alternative therapy that is carried out with the use of suction cups which stimulate the soft tissues. This treatment can be carried out on your face or body. The suction promotes increased blood circulation, which can then help relieve muscle tension, aid cellular repair, and also assist in other regeneration. Cupping also helps to release those toxins retained in the body through the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is responsible for eliminating toxins and waste products in the body.

This treatment is usually combined with other treatments such as Sports or deep tissue massage.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Deep tissue massage uses a firmer pressure than Swedish Massage and this releases tension deep in the muscles. Slow strokes are used and deep pressure is applied using fingers, thumbs, palms and elbows. This can help to relieve tight muscles, severe tension and muscular pain.

DRY NEEDLING

Dry needling is carried out using very thin needles that are used to treat muscle tissue, and its goal is to reduce pain, inactivate trigger points and restore regular function. This treatment is usually combined with other treatments such as Sports or deep tissue massage

INTERFERENTIAL THERAPY (ITF)

ITF is a type of electrotherapy treatment that uses a device that sends small amounts of low frequency electrical current to the muscles to reduce swelling, provide pain relief and stimulate the damaged tissue.

The device looks similar to a tens machine and NMES- Neuromuscular electrical stimulation uses a device that sends electrical impulses to the nerves. This input then causes the muscle to contract. The electrical stimulation can increase strength, endurance and range of motion. NMES has been used in strengthening skeletal  muscles for many years. The activation of muscles is significantly related to pain reduction.

The device looks similar to a tens machine and has pads that stick to the body and attach to wires.

This treatment is usually combined with other treatments such as Sports or deep tissue massage.

HOT SPORTY STONES MASSAGE

A massage which involves sports techniques and deep tissue techniques applied whilst using hot stones.  This results in the massage being less painful and muscles being really warmed up.  This treatment is a great way for the therapist to add heavier pressure, whilst relaxing for you and at the same time increasing localized blood flow.

Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES)

NMES uses a device that sends electrical impulses to the nerves. This input then causes the muscle to contract. The electrical stimulation can increase strength, endurance and range of motion. NMES has been used in strengthening skeletal  muscles for many years. The activation of muscles are significantly related to pain reduction.

The device looks similar to a tens machine and has pads that stick to the body and attach to wires.

This treatment is usually combined with other treatments such as Sports or deep tissue massage.

Sports Reflexology

Sports reflexology is a deeper style of reflexology that uses a firmer pressure when working the different areas of the feet.  Feet are like maps of the body, allowing a Therapist to identify the problem area through the feet.  For example, Sciatica or a past shoulder or knee injury.

This style of reflexology is great for helping you to recover from an injury, minor impact or a repetitive strain injury such as Tennis or Golfers elbow.

Furthermore, reflexology promotes deep relaxation to help improve sleep and ease tension leading up to a sporting/ competitive event.  Reflexology also improves the immune system and is great for health and well-being.

Sports Therapy

Sports massage is for the physically active or those with physically demanding hobbies. This incorporates techniques from other massage styles and provides a deep and rehabilitating process that manipulates the soft tissue to prevent injury and provide relief from muscular tension and pain.

Taping and Strapping for Sport & Injury

Taping is used to help recover from injuries or muscles that are overused. The aim is to limit the range of motion from an injured joint or structure and then the tape acts as a supportive structure to provide stability for a temporary period of time, so the individual can participate in physical activity. The tape can also provide compression to prevent inflammation and management of injury.

Ultrasound Therapy

This is a form of electrotherapy that promotes healing and reduces inflammation of the tissues. An ultrasound machine produces mechanical sound waves that produce energy. These waves enter the skin and create micro vibrations improving the healing of the tissue and pain relief.

During this treatment a head is placed on the affected area using a specialised gel or this can be carried out with the body part in water (e.g hand or foot). The treatment itself is painless and it promotes healing to either an acute injury or chronic condition. Most commonly ultrasound treatment is used to treat areas of soft tissue such as tendinitis, ligament sprains, scar tissue and muscular tears.  Ultrasound speeds up the process of healing , improving the way collagen is laid down when the body is trying to repair itself and increases  the strength of the soft tissue.

This treatment is usually combined with other treatments such as Sports or deep tissue massage.
